The Chair welcomed all to the meeting and the start of the new season, noting a number of apologies due to evening fixtures.

A minute’s silence was held in memory of Eddie Benson MBE, a long-time member and first recipient of the Chairman’s Award.

Membership stands at 25 at the start of the new season, with subs now due.

David King walked through 2017/8 Law updates with members.

Problem Corner: an issue was raised where a referee had abandoned a game due to a tackle resulting in a broken leg. There was a chance that assault charges would be brought against the offending player; the referee was advise to direct any contact towards the County FA and to use the national RA for support as required.

Conor Ledgeway, Liam Powell and Conan Dunne then gave a great presentation describing their experiences officiating at the Iber Cup in Portugal, representing the North Riding FA.
