North Riding Promotion Scheme 2017/8

North Riding FA are now accepting applications for Promotion.   Please visit our website in order to download the appropriate application form and view the detailed criterion –https://www.northridingfa.com/referees/promotion-scheme 

Completed forms are to be emailed to Ross Joyce, Referee Development Officer – ross.joyce@northridingfa.com or sent by post to North Riding County FA HQ and received no later than Friday, 07 April 2017.

All applications carry a £25.00 administration fee, for which you will be sent details of how to make this payment via ‘Whole Game System’ upon receipt of your application – payment must be made within 7 days.

Please note that to apply for promotion you must be refereeing within Open Age (Adult) Football and have completed at least one year or one full season as a Level 7 match official. 

The promotion scheme commences on Wednesday, 01 March 2017 – Wednesday, 28 February 2018. 

Level 7 -6 Promotion Candidates

  • Successfully pass a written examination on the laws of the game
  • Receive a minimum of 3 independent technical observer reports
  • Referee a minimum of 20 open age adult football appointments
  • Achieve a satisfactory average club mark over the course of the season 
  • Act as Assistant Referee on a minimum of 5 open age adult fixtures (Saturday)
  • Inform local observer coordinator of all appointments received
  • Attend the ‘Promotion Development Day’ on Sunday, 04 June 2017 10.00am – 5.00pm – Acklam Green Centre, Middlesbrough
  • Attendance at a further In-service Training Workshop – TBC
  • Payment of £25.00 Promotion Administration Fee
  • Be available to officiate within Saturday & Sunday adult football as appointed
  • Submit an annual record of games officiated to the Association when requested 

Level 6- 5 Promotion Candidates

  • Successfully pass a written examination on the laws of the game
  • Receive a minimum of 3 independent technical observer reports
  • Referee a minimum of 20 open age football appointments
  • Achieve a satisfactory average club mark over the course of the season 
  • Act as Assistant Referee on a minimum of open age adult fixtures (Saturday)
  • Inform local observer coordinator of all appointments received
  • Attend the ‘Promotion Development Day’ on Sunday, 04 June 2017 10.00am – 5.00pm – Acklam Green Centre, Middlesbrough
  • Attendance at a further In-service Training Workshop – TBC
  • Payment of £25.00 Promotion Administration Fee
  • Be available to officiate within Saturday & Sunday adult football as appointed
  • Submit an annual record of games officiated to the Association when requested 

Level 5- 4 Promotion Candidates

  • Receive a minimum of 5 independent technical observer reports
  • Achieve an average assessment mark of 73 or above
  • Referee a minimum of 15 open age football appointments
  • Must undertake a minimum of 10assistant referee appointments
  • Inform local observer coordinator of all appointments received
  • Attend the ‘Promotion Development Day’ on Sunday, 04 June 2017 10.00am – 5.00pm – Acklam Green Centre, Middlesbrough
  • Payment of £25.00 Promotion Administration Fee
  • Be available to officiate within Saturday & Sunday adult football as appointed
  • Submit an annual record of games officiated to the Association when requested
  • Must successfully complete an FA Nomination Fitness Test – Details TBC
  • Must attend an FA Regional Training Seminar and pass written Laws of the Game examination

Minutes of the 2 February 2017 Meeting

Minutes of meeting held on 2nd Feb 2017
At NHS Sports Club with 24 members and guests.

The chairman welcomed all to the meeting.

Apologies were received from Mssrs Kaye and Bradbury.

Rob Atkin, National list AR our guest for the evening then gave an interactive presentation entitled “ How to be liked as a referee “. This took the format of speed dating where the younger members got two and a half mins selling themselves to their older colleagues. With the older saying who impressed the the most after all had been round. It was the three youngest lads who impressed with Tom getting 5 votes; George 3 and Conor 2. Rob also gave an outline of his career with experiences. This was a highly entertaining evening which got everyone talking to each other.

Considering Rob asked to be on first so he could get away sharpish, aiming to finish about 9, the presentation finished 9.30 and he stopped to the end.

Details were given, regarding dinner, Lol Cussons evening, polo shirts.

Colin Atkinson said that some referees’ were not sending in disciplinary forms. Was mentioned that the Whole Game system was not always working.

There being no more business meeting closed at 9.50.

Walking Football Tournament

York City Football Club are holding a Walking Football Tournament on Sunday 12 February, 10am – 2:30pm.

They are looking for three referees to officiate at the tournament. A £40 fee will be offered.
