Dave Ollis

It is with great sadness that we announce that Dave Ollis, a member of the North Riding Referee Development Committee, sadly passed away at the weekend.

Dave’s work with and in local football, particularly the Referee Mentoring programme, over the years has been first class, he was a fantastic supporter of new and newly qualified referees.  Dave spent many hours a week on a voluntary basis ensuring mentors were appointed to games to observe referees in action and providing them with the appropriate feedback post match. Last season Dave successfully coordinated the record number of mentor observations (150) for the County FA, such was the sheer amount of hard work and commitment he put into the role.

Dave was a fantastic person; everybody who had the pleasure of meeting him will know just how much of a miss he is going to be to local football and the Referees Development Committee. Our thoughts are with his wife Doreen & family at this very sad time.
