Appeal for referees at Woldgate College

Woldgate College are looking for referees for school fixtures starting in September.  They play 4 games at once and usually need 2 or 3 refs per game, most weeks between the beginning of September and the end of October.
They then have cup fixtures throughout the year, depending on how well the teams do.
Games are usually 30 mins each way, and generally kick off between 4pm and 4.30pm depending on how far the other school has to travel.
It is Woldgate College in Pocklington.
Anyone interested should contact Ben Clarke at Woldgate College.

The ‘RUTTP?’ event is a unique men only fun- run that takes place every year on Father’s Day organised by local fundraiser Brian Hughes. The annual event helps to raise awareness for prostate cancer whilst raising vital funds for Professor Norman Maitland and his team at the Yorkshire Cancer Research Unit at the University of York, who are world leaders in the field of prostate cancer research.

Now in its fifth year the event has raised £71,000 and this year the target is to bring this total to £100,000. We are very excited to help make this happen along with the support of local sports teams Yorkshire County Cricket Club, York City FC, York City Knights and Tadcaster Albion FC.

We would love as many York RA members as possible to sign up – and do it in ref’s kit to show our collective support for this great cause.

You can sign up here.

Message from the RA Board – RA Chair

Colleagues:

It is with much sadness and regret that I have to advise you that Laura Ritchie has now notified us in writing of her decision to resign as RA Chair, and also from the RA Board, as of 12/05/15.

This development came unexpectedly, and was made by Laura for personal reasons which were not expanded on in her letter of resignation hence we would ask you all to please respect her decision accordingly.

As current RA Vice-Chairman, I will therefore be taking on with immediate effect the role of Acting Chairman of the Association until after the AGM and Conference Weekend in early July 2015, when the Officers for 2015/16 will be elected.

The Association is very grateful to Laura for the many contributions she has made to the RA during her period on the Board, and for her valued efforts during her short time as its Chair. We all send her every good wishes for the future.

Best Regards,

Ian .
