Refereeing Opportunities at Football Mundial

Football Mundial are looking for referees for their regular, FA-registered 6-a-side competitions.

Fees are £15 for 1 hour and £25 for 2 hours.

Football Mundial leagues run at:

Huntington School Astro: Mondays & Thursdays 7-9pm
York College 3G: Mondays 6.30-9.30 & Tuesdays 8.30-9.30
Sport Village 3G :Tuesdays 7-8pm & Sundays 6-8pm.

Minutes of 4 Sept 2014 Meeting

Minutes of meeting held on Sept 4th 2014 At NHS Club with 21 members present.

Apologies were received from Mssrs, Ham; Smith; Bradbury; Shiers; Sutton; G Hartley; B Ballantyne and Ms Humphrys

Minutes of the last meeting were read and accepted.

Matters arising

P Hartley gave a report on the sponsored bike ride through some inclement weather. £2,300 approx was raised.

Jan Suchecki gave a report on the American tournament that he and Amy went to. Very tiring with the amount of matches, but a good experience and going back next year.

Correspondence from Rob Rich and a Lord Mayors Pig Racing evening was read.

Reports were given the RA conference, disappointment regarding the lack of interest shown by younger colleagues for the Saturday session which hosts excellent presentations. Cricket, disappointment again due to people not turning up on the day. Kit, details were given on the status.

Membership, slow this year at 59, you can now sign up online and by card at the meetings.

Insurance claim forms are on the web site.

Social Events, a Pig Racing evening on 1st Nov, £5.00 with pie and peas; Annual dinner 11th April at the Marriott Hotel.

Dave King assisted by Jamie Unwin ran through the penalty indications.

A.o.B. FA appointments to be confirmed with to Barry Casterton or Paul Ballantyne, not Colin Atkinson.

Details were given of the incentives given to encourage new or first time refs to join the RA.

Barkston Ash RA Meetings – Open to York RA Members

Barkston Ash RA are holding two meetings in September, and York RA members are invited to attend – for more information, see the Barkston Ash RA Facebook page.

 

Monday September 1st, 7.30-9.00pm
Venue: Sherburn White Rose FC (LS25 6EL)
This will be an outdoor activity with a focus on decision making and teamwork. Having taken part in the trials, it will be fun yet great for learning. Please bring a whistle and flags if you have them. Dress appropriately for some running around (not too strenuous). The ‘new’ signal for assistant referees giving a penalty will also be covered in this session.

 

Monday 15th September, 7.30-9.00pm
Venue: Hambleton CE Primary School (YO8 9HP)
This will be a classroom session on ‘Dealing with Dissent and Mass Confrontations’

Next Meeting

Thursday 4 September 2014

Remember the next meeting (first of the new season) is at our usual venue (York Hospital Social Club).

We start at 7.30pm (until 9.30pm approx.)

Guest speaker is Paul Scott, Sports Medic

Come and join your fellow colleagues in an informal setting.

All current and new refs are most welcome. New refs are entitled to free membership for the first season (only the insurance to pay – free if you attend at least 4 meetings) – an offer not to be missed.

If you have never attended a meeting come a try it out; it is a great learning environment.
